Committees for the UMass Amherst Model United Nations annual conference have been posted. For those unfamiliar, Model United Nations is a mock United Nations meeting where students from different schools represent entities—usually countries or personas—and debate about possible solutions to the world’s most pressing problems. Committee topics range from historical crises to international court hearings to current issues such as climate change and women’s rights. During the weekend of March 10th through 12th, students from Exeter High School will work to draft fake resolutions in fake committees in order to have a fake impact on the world, all while having an experience of a lifetime.
If you are a student interested in participating in UMass MUN 2017, it’s too late. However, see Mr. Hale in room F239 for information on next year’s upcoming PEA conference in October.
